All About Us
My name is Carol and in November 2018 I took over as the Pre-school Manager, having worked previously as the Deputy Manager for 13 years. I am the SENCo, co-ordinating support for children with a range of difficulties and Designated Safeguarding Lead.
I live in Greenhill with my husband and family, I have two children, my son who is now 20 and my daughter who is 24, they both still live at home with our lovely dogs. I previously worked as an Education Officer in an advertising and public relations company for the dairy industry, in the heart of London for 20 years.
I moved to Greenhill in 2005 and quickly started volunteering here at the Pre-School, I then was appointed in September 2006. For 11 years I had my own key group, the Ladybirds, supporting children aged 2-5 years of age and supporting my Manager as Deputy.
In December 2018 I was appointed as the Manager and am excited to lead our wonderful staff team to deliver and provide the best quality teaching and childcare that we can. I have been so privileged to work with so many local families over the past 13 years, some of the children that I first worked with here are now leaving school and starting their careers! Our children and families are my motivation to work here, seeing the small steps of progress and watch a child grow in their time with us is an absolute honour and a pleasure to be part of their journey.
My name is Nicola and I live in Broomfield with my Husband, I have three children, my eldest daughter who is now 24, my son who is 23 and my youngest daughter who is 19 and I have one beautiful grandchild. In 2006 I moved to Herne Bay, previously living in Medway. I have three cats and one dog. In November I took over as the Pre-School Deputy Manager, having worked previously as Senior.
I have worked at Briary Pre-School for 10 Years as the Honeybee Group. I am the Key Person of the Honeybee group and Deputy Manager of Pre-School. My other roles are two year old advocates and Health and Safety Office. I have Leaderships and Management Certificate and a Level 3 NVQ Early Years Care and Education, I am also the Designated Safeguarding Lead.
I also impervise the planning on a weekly basis around the Early Years Foundation Curriculum (EYFS) covering all seven areas of learning taking into account of the children's interest. My role is to support staff and Carol my manager with the day to day of running the Pre-School as a whole team and making sure every child meets their needs.
My name is Chloe, I live in Herne Bay with my other half and his family. I have lived in Herne Bay for 22 Years.
I am the Ladybirds key person and my buddy is Diane and I have been at Briary Pre-School since 2018, roughly when my key group children had started, and I have loved watching the children grow.
I love art and craft and often come up with unusual group time activities that are a lot of fun for my key group. I have a Level 3 in Early Years.
I have many animals and often out with my family.
My name is Jessica, I live locally and have two sons aged 10 and 4 at primary school and a fox red Labrador called Nala; plus our two guinea pigs Bob and Kevin. I love animals and being outdoors, in my free time I like to go to the beach, the woods or to local rivers and really enjoy kayaking when I get the time and decent weather.
I am the Caterpillar key person and my buddy is Nicola. I have recently completed a foundation degree in Childhood Studies and I am working towards a BA(hons) Early Childhood Education and Care. I am off on Tuesdays as I am doing BA (Hons) Early Childhood Education and Care Degree at University
My name is Katie, I am 24 years old and live in Greenhill with my cousin and her husband. We have two Alaskan Malamutes, one of which we have just started fostering this week.
Before starting at Briary, I worked in another nursery for three years with children aged three months to four years old. I have also been a ‘nanny’ for a little boy aged six months and was with him until he was three. I had a part-time job in a primary school office during this time too.
I am Level 3 qualified and have been at Briary Pre-School since January 2019, working across all key groups as cover staff. This means I’ve been very lucky in getting to know each and every one of the children in such a short space of time. I am the Honeybees Key Person and my buddy is Claire, and am excited about being a part of their journey and watching them grow.
My name is Claire, I am 36 Years Old. I live in Greenhill with my Partner and two children aged four and seven. My son attends Briary Primary School and my daughter attends Briary Pre-School.
I am the Honeybees Key Person and my buddy is Katie. I previously worked with children for eleven years with a mixed group of ages from six months old up until five years old, I then decided to become a full-time Mum.
I have an NVQ Level 2 and Level 3 in Childcare.
My name is Quyen. I live in Herne Common with my husband. I was a kindergarten teacher for a group of children age 2 to 5 years old. After i completed NCFE CACHE level 3.
I came to the UK in 2019 to put it to good use at Briary Pre-School, which now I am the Dragonflies key person.
I am a creative person with many craft skills. I also love gardening and sewing.
My name is Maria. I am 19 Years Old. I live at home with my Mum and Dad. I have been living in Herne Bay for 13 Years and I previously lived in Medway when I was younger. I have one dog called Bella, three cats called, Dennis, Smudge and Molly, and I also have a pond full of fish. I previously volunteered at Briary Pre-School in 2017 helping in the Office and in 2018 I took over the Office Administrator.
My occupation at Briary Pre-School is the Office Administrator. I support Carol my manager and Nicola my deputy manager with lots of administrative tasks and finance information. I maintain the Pre-School website, I track children's attendance and enter all the development tracker. I make all of the child's name cards and all of the photo laminates in our entrance lobby. I love supporting the lunch club hour, with the preschool staff and do lots more, supporting all the staff where I can.
My name is Gavin. I am 34 Years old and I live in Greenhill with my wife and two children. My daughter is 5 and attends Briary Primary School and my son, 3 attends Briary Pre-School.
I previously volunteered at the Pre-School last year in 2018 and I am happy to be back as part of the team. I am working with the Caterpillar group on Tuesdays so Jessica, Early Years Practitioner (Caterpillar key person) can go to University to do her BA (Hons) Early Childhood Education and Care Degree . I am working towards a Level 3.
My name is Carol. I am 48 Years old, I live at home with my partner. I have three grandchildren who all attended Briary Pre-School. I have two dogs, Ash the Cockerpoo and Bonnie the pug, a snake called Sapphire and Chancey, Millie and Rosie the Millipedes.
I work as a play work supervisor in the Project building at the breakfast club over at Briary Primary School and have play work Level 3. I have worked as a TA and a midday supervisor at Briary Primary School and sometimes still cover.
I have been covering in the Pre-School for a couple of years and I love working with the children. I have covered individuals, as well as key groups with a child but still may cover where necessary.
Hi, my name is Matilda, I am 17 years old. I live with my mum and dad and two younger brothers. I have an older sister who is at university. I have a dog called Peanut and a chicken called Artemis. My favourite colour is pink.
I am a student at Canterbury Collage, studying Early Years Education Level 3. I am on placement at Briary Preschool on a Thursday and Friday. I help the practitioners and really enjoy interacting with the children. I look forward to coming every week.
