Sand play

our wonderful world
This year we embarked on our collaboration project ‘Our Wonderful World’, a new project with our children to teach them the fundamentals of looking after their planet. Preschool staff completed the training, which introduced the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. In particular we have been working on Sustainable Development Goal 12 - Responsible Consumption and Production and have introduced our children to responsible consumption and production.
To the 5 R’s - “Reuse, Recycle, Repair, Repurpose, Reduce”. We kicked off our project by no longer using plastic milk bottles at preschool, saving 570 from going to landfill each year! We created our display with the children’s help and we introduced them to litter picking after our ‘McDonald’s drive through activity’. During lockdown we shared home learning activities about our planet and looking after the environment - stories and some simple activities.
