At Briary Pre-School, every child is placed into a small key group and assigned a key person.

What is a Key Person?

​

A Key Person is a named member of staff who plays a special role in supporting your child during their time with us.

​

They help your child to settle into Pre-School, providing reassurance and helping them feel safe, secure, and cared for each day.

​

What Does the Key Person Do?

Your child’s Key Person will:

​

• Support your child during the settling-in period

• Build a positive, trusting relationship with your child

• Observe and monitor your child’s learning and development

• Upload observations to Tapestry

• Provide regular updates about your child’s progress

• Support your child in building confidence and forming relationships with others

• Be your main point of contact for any questions or concerns

The Key Person works closely with you to ensure your child receives the best possible support both at home and at Pre-School.
